AMADEUS Vienna Receives Council of International Schools (CIS) Recognition
We are pleased to share that we have been granted candidate status for CIS Accreditation.
“Our congratulations go to you and your school community on this achievement.” (CIS Evaluation Team Report, March 2020).
AMADEUS Vienna hosted a CIS preparation team visit in February this year; during which, three visiting CIS team inspectors (all senior leaders in other international schools from around the world) met with all stakeholders, observed learning, and combed through school documentation. We can all be very proud of our glowing recommendation that we can continue onto the next phase of the accreditation process.
In particular, the team praised AMADEUS Vienna for our;
- strong sense of community;
- genuine care for students’ wellbeing;
- well-developed IB programmes;
- impressive investment in facilities;
- accessibility of technology;
- high-level music education.
Of course, none of these commendations are surprising to us, and we certainly will not rest on them. The next phase involves an in-depth self-study process which includes input all stakeholders. Throughout course of 2020-2021 we will look in detail at each area of our school (purpose and direction; governance and leadership; curriculum; assessment; wellbeing; staffing; facilities; community relationships; and boarding), and develop plans for the future.
This is an exciting time for our school, it is a welcome recognition of the work we have all contributed to our great school, and a positive step forward on our path toward educational distinction.
“The quality and rigour of CIS International Accreditation is recognized by Ministries and Departmets for Education and by independent national associations responsible for the evaluation of schools and universities around the world. The CIS global membership community includes more that 1300 schools and universities in 116 countries.” (www.cois.org)
