The students and staff were preparing for this day for weeks. It was finally the day for them and everyone was really happy and excited. They felt ready for running in this amazing event. They knew that the run was going to be challenging for them, it couldn’t stop them from running.

There were also music playing to encourage and support the runners. After they ran, the AV milers were very proud of themselves because they knew that they accomplished something very challenging for them.

Grade 9 runner Malena said, “It was a bit challenging, the hill was a bit hard but I ran fast so it was fine. I really liked that at the end of the race everyone was cheering for me. I think everyone should run the mile because it’s fun and it’s a challenge, and challenges are important so we can grow and improve in all ways.”

I feel really good, I’ve been working very, very hard so that’s why it feels so good to win. Because I really have been training every single day so it feels nice,” said Ms. Carnahan of her first place victory.

All in all, it was an incredible day where the whole community came together to have fun and support each other. Me, we, AV!
