Founded in 2024, offering age-appropriate and internationally recognised German exams

The AMADEUS Language Examination Centre was founded in 2024 with the aim of offering age-appropriate and internationally recognised German language exams to AMADEUS students in-house, within their familiar surroundings.

The following six levels, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), will be offered:

A1 (Beginner)
A2 (Elementary)
B1 (Intermediate)
B2 (Upper Intermediate)
C1 (Advanced)
C2 (Proficient)

Each certificate allows students to celebrate their progress step by step and serves as official proof of their language skills, whether they are moving to another country or applying for university studies.

The ÖSD

The ÖSD is a state-approved examination and assessment system for German as a Foreign Language and German as a Second Language. ÖSD exams align with the proficiency levels outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and Profile deutsch and are internationally recognized as proof of German language competence.

The acronym ÖSD stands for “Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch” and also represents Austria (Österreich), Switzerland (Schweiz), and Germany (Deutschland). The ÖSD promotes the idea of German as a pluricentric language, incorporating the linguistic diversity of German-speaking countries in its exams. As a result, the standard language varieties of Austria, Switzerland, and Germany are equally represented in all assessments. Reading and listening tasks feature authentic texts from these regions to ensure a well-rounded linguistic approach.
