Achieve Internationally Recognised German Language Certificates at AMADEUS

The AMADEUS Language Examination Centre was founded in 2024 with the aim of offering age-appropriate and internationally recognised German language exams to AMADEUS students in-house, within their familiar surroundings. Currently, we are offering following levels: A1 (Beginner); A2 (Elementary); B1 (Intermediate), and B2 (Upper Intermediate)

Each level certificate allows students to celebrate their progress step by step and serves as official proof of their language skills, whether they are moving to another country or applying for university studies.

The AMADEUS ÖSD Team is delighted to conclude a highly successful year!

Since September, we have conducted two exam rounds covering the A1 KID, A2 KID, and B1 levels, achieving an exceptionally high passing rate.

Congratulations to all participating students and their supportive families!

We are also very pleased to welcome Ms Irena Sovic to the AMADEUS ÖSD Team. Ms Sovic recently completed her ÖSD training to become a qualified assessor and will be joining us for the 2026/27 school year.

Additionally, we are excited to share that the AMADEUS ÖSD Team has just completed further training, meaning we will be able to offer and administer official B2 exams next school year!

The ÖSD

The ÖSD is a state-approved examination and assessment system for German as a Foreign Language and German as a Second Language. ÖSD exams align with the proficiency levels outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and Profile deutsch and are internationally recognized as proof of German language competence.

The acronym ÖSD stands for “Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch” and also represents Austria (Österreich), Switzerland (Schweiz), and Germany (Deutschland). The ÖSD promotes the idea of German as a pluricentric language, incorporating the linguistic diversity of German-speaking countries in its exams. As a result, the standard language varieties of Austria, Switzerland, and Germany are equally represented in all assessments. Reading and listening tasks feature authentic texts from these regions to ensure a well-rounded linguistic approach.
